What Pharaoh Teaches Us About Pandemics

Have you every thought of what we could learn from Pharaoh during the COVID-19 pandemic? This very serious and tragic outbreak has affected many lives. And yet, there is something we can do.

“Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people,

Exodus 8:8 NIV

It’s funny how we can even learn from such an example like Pharaoh. This man, as far as he was from God, still knew he could only be rid of the plagues by prayer. He didn’t know God himself, so he called for Moses to intercede.

‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Jeremiah 33:3 NIV

We know our God and we know He is mighty and powerful to save. Amazingly, our great God doesn’t push us away or ask us to make an appointment. He actually invites us to come and call to Him. He wants to hear our prayers.  We can be blessed, and we can overcome everything through Christ. So in this time of Pandemic, “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful,” (Hebrews 10:23)

Surely, isolation has been difficult for everyone. Especially without classes, without work, and the normal shifting dynamics in the life of a young person. The worst part of it all may actually be the uncertainty. Who even knows when things will go back to normal? However, we need to keep reading…

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching,”

Hebrews 10:24-25

Although we may not be able to meet physically right now, there are plenty of ways to keep spuring one another towards love. Let us all pray and seek the Lord in this time. Tune in to AM Bible studies online for more encouragement and grace from the Word.
