On January 2, 2025, leaders and members of Apostolos Missions Intl united for the 2025 Work Commencement and January monthly service for a time of prayer, praise and worship, sermon, guidance, and fellowship. In attendance were AM members from Africa, South Asia, Europe, United States, Korea, and Japan.
The sermon was given by the AM GS Pastor Alma Osorio coming from Matthew 17:1-8, focusing on the very famous scene where Jesus is transfigured. Not everything that Jesus did is recorded in the Bible, this must have been a moment so impactful that it touched the disciples so deeply and they wanted to share with us all. Through this time, the disciples were with Jesus and came to know him but had yet to recognize his true power and authority as the son of God. We also want to come to know the Lord as we walk the path of faith. Although we walk with God our vision can become distorted, we can see God through our own judgments, but our desire is to know the Lord truly and deeply.
Jesus took Peter, James, and John to the mountain for the transfiguration. These disciples had always lived and walked with Jesus, knowing the secrets of heaven but now they came to see his authority and true power. Afterwards they had this confession that Jesus is the true son of God. Unfortunately, sometimes even as Christians we cannot realize the power of God. Once we realize this true power of Jesus then we are able to recognize the authority he gracefully shares with us as his children. Jesus came like the burning bush, very humble and shabby. Others can view us as shabby as well, but we are not just simple people. There is a treasure inside us that God has given. We want to come to see Jesus in this light, through walking with the Lord we want to see his great authority and also walk in the same way.
The prayer for AM members in the year 2025 is for our eyes to be baptized to the power and authority of Jesus so that we can recognize our own authority as well. All other problems will fall away when we focus on Jesus, the savior of this world. May we have the same confession as the disciples and put our trust in the Lord to be our peace and joy.
Following the message, there were announcements on the 2025 yearly list of events. Members were presented the year-long list, which was made up of monthly services, training, seminars, retreats, mission trips, etc. AM regional leaders were encouraged to follow the model of the HQ yearly calendar, making their own type of calendar in order to prepare, evangelize toward goals, and advertise ahead of time events and programs. The major goals of 2025 included establishing new centers going toward the great pioneering goal of 2027.
The meeting concluded with prayer for the AM HQ and international goals of 2025, a prayer of expansion and for every individual member’s well-being.
