AM Int’l Celebrates its 21st Anniversary: ‘Preach Jesus Christ as Lord’

Apostolos Missions International (AMI) celebrated its 21st anniversary on December 10th along with chapters from around the world. On this day, in the evening time, the headquarters of Apostolos Missions held its anniversary service which was broadcast and joined by many leaders and chapters from around the world.

The message was delivered by Executive Director, Josephine Disla, who preached from Romans 1:1 and 2 Corinthians 4:5. Throughout the service, the meaning of Apostolos was expounded and much emphasis was placed on the calling to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world.

What began as a small group of passionate young students in Los Angeles California, who had eagerness to spread the gospel and to make Jesus known, has now become a global organization. This ministry started with the vision of inheriting the calling given to the early apostles by Jesus Christ, to preach the gospel to all nations and to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Apostolos Missions’ commission is to be set apart for the gospel of God and to preach Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as servants for Jesus sake.

Paul said that he was a servant called to be an apostle. This servant is a bond servant, one who serves willingly because of love towards their master and who serves and devotes everything of their lives to their master because of love. But this bond servant loves the master because the master first loved the servant. We love Christ because he first loved us and gave Himself for us. He did not spare his own life but sacrificed Himself on the cross for our redemption, for us to be saved.

Right after His resurrection Jesus told the disciples all authority has been given to me so with this authority that I have receive now you go and preach the gospel and make more disciples baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey all things, and don’t worry, don’t be afraid, I will be with you (Matthew 28:18-20). In other words we are those who have been sent (John 17:18, Apostolos, the one who is sent, an ambassador, sent with an amazing message on behalf of another. The message of the good news of Jesus Christ, the message of the gospel.

Why is this message good news? Because the gospel is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes and because in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed (Romans 1:16-17). All human beings have this earnest desire to do good and to be good but no matter how hard we try we can’t because of sin. We cannot reach perfect righteousness on our own and we can never reach the righteousness of God. That is why the gospel is good news for us. Because in the gospel God’s righteousness is revealed, in the gospel the power of God to save every single human being who is soaked under sin is already revealed. It is God’s love. It is the love of God who sent His Son to the world and who achieved perfect righteousness for every single person and who wishes to give that righteousness to each and every one of us. And if you simply believe this message that there is a way for you to be righteous in the sight of God through the One who achieve perfect righteousness, if you accept that love in your heart you will be saved.

That is why we are called and sent to this world to preach Jesus because only through Jesus can humanity be saved. Thus, Apostolos Missions’ mission is to preach Jesus and Him crucified. It is to testify of this amazing power of salvation and there is nothing more precious than being God’s tool to save others and to preach this gospel.

All chapters were urged to lead many to righteousness and to truly preach Jesus Christ as Lord and become the true apostolos of this era, those who are sent and those who devote their lives fully to Christ.
